SOMEONE HAS TO PERFORM THE CEREMONY

The last person you want to miss out on is the person who officiates your wedding.

If you're holding your wedding in a church, the most common person to hire is of course the church pastor. While some churches insist on having their own local pastors or ministers to conduct the ceremony, a few on the other hand, permit outside pastors with proper credentials to officiate. This can be easily confirmed by checking with the church administrator.

Other than religious leaders, a currently sitting judge or Justice of the Peace, as well as retired judges and JPs can perform civil ceremonies, within a limited jurisdiction. Be sure to verify the licenses and validity of any ceremonies being performed by your officiant.. Some licenses are only valid in certain, states, counties or locales.
